Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (NSAID)

A type of medication used to treat common aches and pains, and especially pain caused by inflammation. Best used under the direction of a health care provider, as they may thin the blood (increasing risk of bleeding), cause stomach upset and impair kidney function.
