Description: |
At the Diane Morrison Hospice, patients are referred to our facility. Our program admits: - People who are homeless or street involved and living with a rapidly-progressing terminal illness; - People who need assistance in managing pain or symptoms associated with a terminal illness; and - People with a terminal illness who are unable to access ‘mainstream’ palliative care due to behaviour or lifestyle.
The Ottawa Mission provides all aspects of housing, transportation, and spiritual care while Ottawa Inner City Health provides doctor supervision. Carefor, an agency recognized for its expertise in palliative care, provides trained staff to see to the day-to-day needs of our patients. We also offer visits from physiotherapists and occupational therapists through the Community Care Access Centre, and proudly partner with the Mobile Pain and Symptom Management Team from the Elizabeth Bruyère Health Centre, who consult with our clients and provide their expertise in assisting with complex symptoms of pain and illness.
