Dr. Robert Twycross, Emeritus Clinical Reader in Palliative Medicine, Oxford University, UK is the featured presenter for the UBC Palliative Care Y.S. Hsieh Memorial Lecture 2009 International Distinguished Speaker Series. Dr. Twycross is a leading pioneer in the development of palliative care worldwide for the last 40 years. He is the former Head of the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Palliative Care at Oxford University. In 2008, he received Life Time Achievement Awards from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care and the Indian Association of Palliative Care.
