Since 2011, Maxxine Rattner has been the staff social worker at Kensington Hospice in downtown Toronto. In her role, she attends to the practical and psychosocial support needs of hospice residents and their chosen and biological families and implements the hospice’s Bereavement Support Program. Maxxine is pursuing a PhD in Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her clinical and research interests currently focus on the psychosocial suffering that may be experienced by patients, families, and clinicians in palliative care. Maxxine joined Canadian Virtual Hospice in 2019 as a psychosocial specialist.
