January 01, 2011

For 2011, Hospice Northwest is proud to present Irene Desjardins with this prestigious award. As co-coodinator of the volunteer program at Wilson Memorial General Hospital in Marathon, Irene is responsible, not only for providing volunteer support to her own clients, but also for the recruitment and management of several bilingual volunteers on her team as well. She is instrumental in coordinating and scheduling volunteers so that many clients who are in their last weeks of life may receive support around the clock. Irene’s passion for palliative care is evident in her strong commitment to those she serves in her community.
