Hello Suzanne
I love the “sweet friends” greeting. Can strangers be “sweet friends”? Yes, I definitely do believe so. It is possible in all aspects of life. Modern forms of social media simply represent the current vehicle. For my grandfather, it was short wave radio – he was a ham radio enthusiast. He had great “Virtual Friends” all over the world. Just kind souls reaching out to souls of a kind.
There is simply something in your writing that tells me that you too are a sweet soul, Suzanne.
One of the reasons that “virtual strangers” can become “virtual friends” is that “When a hurting soul reaches out, and a compassionate soul responds, then something magical and mysterious occurs.” The “bonding” is such that words fall with failure when explanations are attempted.
Suzanne, we hear (a Freudian slip) at Virtual Hospice extend our hearts to you, sweet girl.
Let us know how you are doing. Use us as a sounding board, whenever you need to. Why do we reach out to you? Very simply it is in gratitude for the virtual strangers who will reach out to us WHEN it is our turn.

ps Today, in the Virtual Hospice “Discussion Forums – Reflections and Inspiration” section, I posted a quote titled, “The Compassionate Listener”. If you have time, please read it and perhaps offer an opinion.
