Young Adult
Cancer Canada (YACC) provides support services to young adults affected by
cancer in their late teens, 20s, and 30s. We offer web-based services and
face-to-face retreats and conferences. We will connect with any young adult you
meet who is eligible to our services to see how we can help.
These
initiatives include:
- Localife – peer-led activity-based groups for
young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to connect with their
peers
- Retreat Yourself – a weekend retreat for
young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to get together and
discuss issues related to their cancer
- Retreat Yourself Adventure - provides young
adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters a chance to tackle survivorship
issues on an Adventure that will push their limits and challenge them
physically and mentally
- Survivor Conference - annual conference that
brings together young adult cancer patients/survivors and supporters to learn
useful tips to live a healthier and happier life.
- The Big Cancer hookup! – annual webcast
showcasing young adults and their
real-life cancer stories
- We Get It – video series addressing relevant
issues for young adults. Videos include information on: delayed diagnosis,
disintrajectorization, isolation, fertility, independence, relationships and
