Mr. Jim Mulcahy, a cancer survivor and volunteer advocate for cancer patients and families, was presented with the CancerCare Nova Scotia Excellence in Patient Care Award for a volunteer. Over the last 10 years Mr. Mulcahy has worked on many committees with Cancer Care Nova Scotia, sharing the patient voice and experience to help develop and fine tune policies and programs to enhance cancer patient care. He is also a staunch supporter and advocate for cancer patients in his home town of Antigonish.
The CCNS Excellence Awards provide an important opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate the talented and committed health professionals as well as the many volunteers who together make up Nova Scotia’s cancer system," said Theresa Marie Underhill, chief operating officer, Cancer Care Nova Scotia.
