This 5 minute award-winning video below is called "Dear 16 year-old me" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4jgUcxMezM

It could save your life, or the life of someone you love. Post it on your Facebook page. Help others.

Then listen to one of the most beautiful voices that you'll ever hear -  Eva Cassidy whose voice was forever silenced in 1996 by this terrible, often preventable disease.

Thank you eKIM for posting the video 'Dear 16 year-old me". Melanoma needs more awareness.

I have had skin cancer twice on my face. Once twenty two years ago on my nose. The most recent occurance was diagnosed last fall and was removed in January of 2012. It was on my face in the centre of my cheek under my eye. It was a basal cell and I hope it doesn't return as both surgeries, being on my face, were traumatic, but I can live with the results as this type of cancer is highly treatable and even curable by excision most of the time.

When I saw you post the link to Eva Cassidy's rendition of "Fields of Gold" I literally got goose bumps. She ranks in my top five favourite artists and her death due to melanoma when she was in her prime, her thirties, was tragic. Her gift of music lives on. Here is one of my most treasured songs of hers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlx7Pb-LmSQ "I Know you by Heart" and my all-time favourite: "Songbird" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKjjRz0TEUk - Enjoy!

Thank you eKIM - we really are on the same wavelength - quite literally!;-)

-hugs-
