On October 22, 2009, "Strategies of Grief Therapy-- A Meaning Reconstruction Approach" , presented by Robert Neimeyer draws upon cutting edge theory and research to offer four perspectives to grief therapy: narrative, continuing bonds, and imagery work. Through the use of lectures, therapeutic videos, various demonstrations and exercises, participants will gain a clearer conceptualization of processes that foster and impede constructive meaning making in bereavement, as well as new tools to incorporate into practice.
On October 23, 2009, "Grief Therapy Over Time-- Reconstructing The Continuing Bond", presented by Robert Neimeyer will offer a case study to demonstrate useful concepts and specific techniques for the sequencing of in-session process work with in-between session tasks. He will also describe two narrative methods for exploring and shifting the story of loss, also applying dream work and imagery to identify attachment implications of the loss. Essential conditions for the promotion of post-traumatic growth will also be explored. |
