Dr. David Henderson is the Senior Director of Integrated Palliative Care for the Nova Scotia Health Authority. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Colchester East Hants Palliative Care Program where he provides clinical care, education and program development along with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. David is an assistant professor with the Department of Family Medicine at Dalhousie University. He has been involved with palliative care development in Canada for many years serving on the Board of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association and as President of the Canadian Society of Palliative Care Physicians. He is also chair of the College of Family Physicians of Canada Palliative Care Committee. David received the Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal and the CHPCA Honourable Sharon Carstairs Palliative Care Award of Excellence in Advocacy. David balances his work life with spending time with his four children and coaching hockey. David joined Canadian virtual Hospice in 2019 as a physician consultant.
