Dr. Harlos is a member of the Canadian Virtual Hospice Executive Team, setting strategic direction for www.virtualhospice.ca. He is the lead developer for clinical information on the site and oversees the health care team at Ask a Professional. Dr. Harlos is Medical Director for the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Palliative Care Program and for St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Program. He is also co-chair of the Canadian Network of Palliative Care for Children.

Dr. Harlos is continually raising expectations about what palliative care can achieve. Through his lectures, he shares his commitment to care with family medicine residents, oncology fellows, undergraduate medical students and undergraduate nursing students. Dr. Harlos is a past winner of the Eduardo Bruera Award recognizing excellence in the field of palliative medicine.
