Dr. Emily Freeman’s research focus within the area of psychosocial oncology is concerned with post-traumatic growth and advanced disease. She conducts qualitative investigations examining the experience of patients with the health care system after a diagnosis of advanced cancer. Dr. Freeman is also interested in the knowledge transfer and dissemination of evidence from science to evidence-based medicine for patients with chronic diseases and cancer. She is exploring what counts as medical evidence within the evidence-based medicine paradigm and how this intersects with patient’s values and treatment decisions.
